Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the EV Scout app (hereby referred to as "Application") created by Tilen Bobek (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). This service is provided as a Free service and is intended for use "AS IS".

1. Information Collection and Use

To provide a personalized experience, including account synchronization and charging history tracking, the Application collects certain personally identifiable information:

• Account Information: When you register or log in, we collect your e-mail address via Supabase Auth to authenticate your identity and secure your data.
• User-Generated Content: We store information about your saved vehicles (vehicle's nickname) and related charging logs (date, energy added, distance travelled, season, driving type and arbitrary notes).

2. Data Storage and Handling

The Application uses a hybrid storage approach to ensure data availability and performance:

• Local Storage: Your vehicle data and charging logs are stored locally on your device using an SQLite database for offline access.
• Cloud Storage: Data is synchronized with Supabase, a third-party backend service, to allow you to access your account from multiple devices.

3. Third-Party Services

The Application utilizes the following third-party service providers who may process your data according to their own privacy policies:

4. Data Deletion and User Rights

We respect your right to control your data. The Application provides a Full Account Deletion feature within the Authentication settings.

When you choose to delete your account, the following happens:

• Remote Data Removal: User account, all stored vehicles and charging logs are removed from our remote Supabase database.
• Local Data Wipe: All local data, including your vehicle profiles and logs stored in the SQLite database, is permanently deleted from your device.
• Anonymized Charging Logs: During the deletion process, you may choose to preserve your charging logs. If you choose to keep them, these logs are fully anonymized and stripped of all personal identifiers.

In general, the following applies:

• Security (RLS): We utilize Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that your private data is restricted and accessible only by your authenticated account.
• Community Data & Aggregated Statistics: Anonymized charging logs data is contributed to the EV Scout community to generate aggregated statistics. This publicly available data consists solely of range and consumption averages and contains no personally identifiable information.
• Local-Only Use: Users who do not wish to sync data to the cloud may continue to use the Application without an account and still access anonymized aggregated statistics. Though this limits the availability of storing vehicles, charging logs and cross-device synchronization.

4.1. Data Deletion Request (Web-based)

If you have uninstalled the Application or are unable to access the in-app deletion feature, you may request the deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us directly.

• Request via Email: Send an email to tilen.bobek@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
• Required Information: Please provide the email address used to create your EV Scout account so we can verify your identity and process the request.
• Processing Time: Once verified, your account, vehicle profiles, and charging logs will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

The Application is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The Service Provider encourages all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services. The Service Provider encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application and/or Services, please contact the Service Provider (tilen.bobek@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

6. Security

The Service Provider employs industry-standard security measures, including encrypted authentication via Supabase, to safeguard your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated. We will notify you of any changes by updating this page. Continued use of the Application signifies your approval of the changes.
